TWM Grapevine – July 28, 2005

Tim's Wine Market

Greetings!

You will have a new newsletter in your mailbox Saturday or Sunday but as always, some items missed the cut but were too good to be forgotten. We will have these four wines open in both stores on Friday evening, five pm to seven pm. As a new twist, we will offer the case discount on any purchase of Pitchfork wines and a 15% discount on any mixed case of Pitchfork, Friday night only.

Also, don’t miss our “Taste of the Riviera” in the Orlando store on August, 24th. We will be focusing on Rhone wines, some Spanish and Italian wines, as well as a cool selection of cheeses, meats, olives and the like. The price is $25 per person, limited to 50 people.

PITCHFORK
Pitchfork is made by Hay Shed Hill Estate, located in the heart of the Margaret River region (Western Australia). Hay Shed Hill was established in 1979 (the vineyards were actually planted in 1975.) and produces 25,000 cases annually. The Pitchfork wines are meant to be fun, affordable and approachable. They showcase the fruit driven “drink-ability” of the estate while still keeping characteristics of the terroir.

The Wines:

Pitchfork Pink Cabernet ’04: Yeah, it says “pink cab”! The wine is fresh strawberry with a cool mouth feel and finishes crisp. There’s so much freshness that the wine has “ripe fruit sweetness” on the mid-palate that makes it a favorite for chillin’ and grillin’! $12 per

Pitchfork Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc / Chardonnay ’03: think of a tropical fruit salad with a hint of fresh citrus and a sprig of herbaceousness. The wine is crisp, fresh and shows excellent length; as do all the Pitchfork wines. $12 per

Pitchfork Chardonnay ’03: An abundance of tropical fruit with a backbone of oak. Peach, nectarine and litchi upfront lead to a full, yet soft mouth feel. Lush and creamy, the wine retains its freshness with a nice balance of acidity. The finish is long and dry. $14 per

Pitchfork Shiraz / Cabernet ’02: Rich with red fruits, spice and a touch of Margaret River mint, this wine has great balance and once again impressive length. I like it for upscale BBQ, ribs, brisket and pulled pork were the food will kick up the fruit in the wine. $14 per

Have a great weekend!
