Spring break is here and the family and I have returned to our favorite four day vacation spot, Atlanta. I have said many times before the Atlanta is my muse, the place where I go for inspiration, revitalization and eating. After all, when I write my autobiography the title is going to be Squeezing in life between meals.
The trip up was uneventful except that Jacks Old South Bar-B-Q of Vienne Georgia is closed on Sundays. This two time winner of Memphis in May is worth the stop but you have to look for it, they moved to an obscure spot behind the Home Depot at exit 99.
After arriving in Atlanta our first meal is a casual, French themed restaurant called La Madeleine, on Paces Ferry Road. We eat here often because they have one of the best Ceasar salads I know and after the all you can eat Southern Buffet I did not need anything too heavy. It is right next to the new Whole Foods in Buckhead, a magnificent monument to food. This is the new WF and according to the coffee guy it is one of their biggest and best stores.
My wife and I have figured out that if we only eat in our favorite spots we have to consume four meals a day, and we are not big breakfast eaters. I will try and update each day to keep you aware of the best meals and my weight gain.
