Our selections this month are a comparison of Petite Sirah and Syrah. For years the two were not thought to be related, other than a derivation of their names, until DNA evidence proved otherwise in the 1990s. Nevertheless, the two grapes produce wines of very different styles, which is easy to taste in a side-by-side comparison. Additionally, they also work well with the casual cuisine of summer including grilled dishes and sheet pan meals.
