Henry de Vezelay 200, now only $8

Tim's Wine Market

I have purchased this wine for many years and have consumed many bottles.  Due to a shift in the distributor universe the wine is now available for a fraction of its normal price so I ordered a sample bottle to reacquaint myself.   The color is mature and the nose was a little simple to start.  A few minutes in the decanter and the true aroma of this wine started to blossom.  There is a strong aroma of lemon curd, kissed with dried straw and finished with a little minerality.  In the mouth this wine starts out a little sharp but after it has opened it has a wonderful, mature oiliness with a decent frame of acidity.  This wine strikes me as the perfect compliment to chicken sautéed in butter with lemon and capers.  The regular cost, $16 but until it is gone, take it home for $8.
