2004 Gladiatore Chianti Classico – $12 bottle
The 2002 version of this wine was a huge hit. The supplier missed the 2003 but has followed up with a stunning new version from the 2004 vintage. This model is far bigger and richer than the 2002, which was very nice for the price. The new release shows a very deep garnet hue and meaty, smoky note in the nose. The feel in the mouth is big and dense, so much so that it made me wonder what the Cabernet component in this wine may be. There is no shortage so stop by and try this stunning wine.
