DESCRIPTION:It is hard to believe\, but in the early 1990s\, I fought harder for allocations of the great Zinfandels of California than for any other wines. The single vineyard wines from Ridge\, Rosenblum\, and a handful of others would sell out instantly\, but none were more desired than those from Ravenswood. Alas\, owner/winemaker Joel Peterson sold the winery in 2001 for $148 million. Since then\, his son\, Morgan Twain Peterson\, has carried on the legacy with his excellent Bedrock Wines. Now Joel is back\, producing limited quantities of wines under his new label\, Once and Forever. I tasted these wines a few weeks ago\, and they are amazing.
