2004 KUNDE Chardonnay “Sonoma County” – $14 bottle
For years this winery has produced a solid Chardonnay from their estate vineyards. After the 2002 vintage the price creeped up and we lost momentum on the wine but the supplier was looking to make a deal and I bought 25 cases. At this price it is hard to beat. I have included a link to the tech sheet for the wine if you are interested, just click on the winery picture.
The 2004 Chardonnay is ripe and generous, with an obvious but not overbearing sense of oak. There is ripe apple and pear flavors, complimented by the sweet vanilla and baking spice components of oak. Like all 2004’s this wine shows a good bit of texture in the mouth but it will need to be drunk over the next year or so.
